Brad was a rising Junior at Great Bridge High School who was tragically killed in a car accident at the age of 16.
He was well liked by everyone he met for his 'sly' sense of humor and kind disposition. Unlike most 16 year olds, he was not embarrassed to hug and show signs of affection to those he most cared about. Brad’s friends have described him as being 'the most pure person' they have ever met. He had friends from all walks of life, and was always willing to help others.
Two of his passions, Texas and baseball, combined to make Brad a devoted fan of the Texas Longhorns and the Philadelphia Phillies. When not watching baseball, Brad enjoyed playing the game. As a 13 year old, Brad was selected 95th out of 100 players in a Pony baseball draft. Struggling his first season, Brad continued steadily to improve. The following season, Brad led his team to a 15-1 record. Batting leadoff and playing center-field, he was selected unanimously to the Pony All Star team.
It is in Brad’s memory that the proceeds from this tournament will benefit a graduating student athlete from Great Bridge High School who possesses and demonstrates like values of kindness, commitment to effort, dedication and team spirit.
